A weekend full of movies!

Saturday, after I blogged, I watched "Chicken Little". It was ok, though I distinctly remember the tv trailers for this movie being hilarious. I guess they chopped out all the funny bits in the movie to make the trailer.

I then watched "The Skeleton Key" and it had me guessing "who do the voodoo that you do so well". It was the old lady, who was really the servant (slave) voodoo-er that has taken up stealing bodoes to live forever. And Peter Sarsgaard was the other big bad voodoo daddy, also turned body snatcher. Why is he evil or twisted in every movie? He's damn good at it!

After all the chickens and voodoo, I watched "Wicker Park". It was also ok, that was one twisted bitch. At least she didn't kill anyone. I was hoping she would, so the movie was kind of weak. Josh Hartnett better be good in "The Black Dahlia"! It probably won't matter though, I'll be looking at the sexy Scarlett Johannsen, Mia Kirschner, and Hilary Swank. 3 more weeks!

Sunday, after shoving more pills down my poor kitty's throat, I watched "Venom", which is also about voodoo. This movie had some snakes in it. They made the soon-to-be-just dead-nice-but-creepy guy all undead and cranky. Only one girl lived, and it was not the one I liked. The black chick from "D.E.B.S." was in this movie - she do da voodoo too (in the movie).

Then I decided to watch Rachel McAdams get stressed in "Red Eye". It was ok, kind of twisted, but not as much as I thought it would be. I was hoping Samuel L. and some snakes would pop on-board and shake the flight up a bit more.

After some pizza, I decided to cool it down by watching "Team America: World Police". It was pretty funny. Hehe! Marionette sex - very wrong! It made me wanna watch some South Park, but I did not.

I took the movies back to the video store and then put away my movies that I had out from like 2 weeks ago, back intheir appropriate dvd bucket in my closets. I put away some important papers/ receipt and then watched "16 Blocks' which was alright too. I wanted to kill Mos Def myself with that voice he used in the movie. Then I farted around on the laptop, watched an old ep of CSI, and went to bed much later than I should have.

Today (Monday) I woke up at 6, and just stayed in bet until about 6:40 when I had to get up to pee really bad. I fed and medicated Eddie - who is doing much better. His eyes are no longer goopy, just a bit crusty, he does not like me picking his eye-boogers for him. His nose is not really runny anymore and he sneezes infrequently. It's just his poor little pink nose is so chapped and raw. He's an adorable little bed-hog.

I got ready, put away the dry dishes, and took off to find little available close distance parking at school. I've just been spoiled by being able to park in the pay lot right by the Science building all summer (cuz it's free then and no one is around). Affter dumping my shit in my office, I head next door to the Med building to bother Beth before class. I could not find her, and apparently Dr. Moga forgot to tell everyone that Histology starts at 8:30am now instead of 9am. So I sat on the couch in the hall and waited til Beth showed up to chat with her.

So. Damn. Sleepy! I kept nodding off during class. I tried to pretend that I was reading the lecture notes and hoped then closed eyes would confuse her and she'd think they look like the dark little chinky eyes they normally are. But once you are gone and you lose voluntary neck muscle function, and your head dips, then any charade of paying attention is blown. At least I am less figety when I am asleep. Damn! That might be my tell that I am dozing, that I am neither moving much or talking/ laughing. Hmm, the class is to small and dark to get away with sunglasses! At least we didn't have to look at any slides today!!!

So I am here blogging about the last few days so my sister doesn't call and yell at me that she has no reading material and that she is bored. Off to teach some whiny-ass undergraduate bastards baby-bio for the next 4 hours!!! I shall return to finish a recap of today!

Now I am back after back-to-back lab sections of hell! No, they were't hellish, just boring. At least in hell you have demons to poke at you and keep you awake. First lab was with Youssef, a guy in the other and more sinister bio department - Life Sciences, he's from Morocco and has an accent, but not too bad for me, probably bad for all our little white-bread corn-fed Hoosier students. So I sat there, semi-paid attention so I cuold be just as boring next lab, and picked dead goldfish out of the aquarium. All the ones that were alive when we started lab were dead by the end. So we bought more goldfish, and not the cheesy little crunchy ones mind you, we got the stinky swimmy poopy ones. As long as they live until tomorrow at noon we don't care. PetCo must be putting arsenic in the pet water.

Second lab, far more interesting because I had to do the yaking. I told them they were lucky, I am one of the few American TA's for this lab class. Well, it is about half and half. My other half for the lab was Swapna! She got to deal with dead and torpid goldfish while I instructed. Why were we playing with dead goldfish? They were supposed to be alive to teach the kiddies about The Scientific Method in action. At least I don't have to deal with 2 sections of them next week (or Histology) - Labor Day! I still have to show up to school though :(

Now I am here blogging, happy to go home because I am hungry, sad to leave because there is NOTHING on tv tonight. But I am pissed because tennis (US Open) is happening, but I cannot watch it because of school. At least this weekend I have women's tennis AND beach volleyball! Is there such thing as a sports-gasm? I'm glad Monday is Labor Day and I have nothing super important to do, cuz I'm gonna be worthless and spent after all the tennis and volleyball excitement Saturday and Sunday. There is 6 hours of tennis on and an hour and a half of AVP action on both Saturday and Sunday!!! One of the volleyball days will be men (Eww!), and half of each tennis time slot will also be men (Eww eww!). I'll probably talk to my dad while watching Misty May and Kerri Walsh kick some beach-tanned fanny!

Now to go to the video store to return "16 Blocks" and maybe rent something else. I am not sure, I could totally pass out right now. I have lab to TA at 8am!!! At least I am not the lead TA, Swapna is! She can yak at the brats while I doze and pick up dead goldfish.

Maybe I'll upload a picture tomorrow, there have been complaints about the lack of pictures on my blog. I still have to download the last season 3 episode of Deadwood tomorrow. I can't wait to watch it. I could not steal on a computer in the GIS lab today to do it, I think there is a class happening in there right now. Damn!

Random fact of the day: I don't have a favorite flower. They are really nice to look at natural and outside, I don't really want them inside my house. Bugs can hide in them. I don't think I'd like to get flowers from anyone but my parents. I am not really fond of giving them either. I think they are weak and don't say a lot. They are farmed to just look nice for a few days, then they get all shrivelly? and die. I'd rather get chocolate! Something that stays with you a bit longer (even at the expense of my ass and thighs) and you can do more than look at and smell. Like weird truffle thingies from Vosges! Mmmm...exotic candy bars. Apparently they are now sold at Parkleigh back home!
