Grad Seminar courses = Downside: Lots of dense reading and discussion / Upside: No tests!
Wednesday there was mail for me. Everything I expected. It was annoying to bring the boxes into town to throw out.
There was food and tv watching. The series premier of 'Bones' was awesome!!! After the only good thing on that night, I decided to give a run through of my new CDs. I was sidtracted for a long tome by the new Nields CD. It is tradiational and childrens song. Very fun and well done. That will be in my car for quite a while.
I called home to tak to Kailea and then decided to take a teeny nap before tennis recaps on tv. While I was dozing I hear a plastic crash and turned on the light to seem Eddie with my glasses on his mouth! This is not his first venture into optical theft. He stole Kailea's glasses and chewed the lenses up a bit when she came out to visit me.
Tennis recaps blew. It was full of men. I did see a iTunes/ iPod commercial with Bob Dylan. Yeah!!! New Bob music!
Thursday I woke up far too early. I had to read for Ecology seminar. It was an ok read. Not too technical or boring. Was a bit a review from Conservation Bio class. Class went well. But I think next week the pressure will be on. We'll see.
The TA meeting was short and boring. There are many fish left alive now. They seemed to be doing ok. Hopefully they'll last a while even though we are done with them.
I started to email people from the LGBTQ Alliance (I am their glorious Vice-Lez) so we can schedule our first meeting. We have a day and a time, now to plan the first meeting to recruit, I mean, get new members of the group. Everyone is freakin' busy so the newbies better step it up. There should be pizza at the meeting. Free food is the best way to get college kids to show up anywhere.
Instead of playing with the microtome to figure out the best knife angles, I decided (at George's suggestion) to move it into our lab from the Med building. So much easier, but now I have to hear Saurabh blah blah blah-ing to India while I am slicing shit.
I talked to Kailea and went home for some pizza. Very boring. I did watch a movie "Love + Suicide" that was pretty decent. The lead chick looks like Caroline Dhavernas from 'Wonderfalls'.
'Big Brother' was pretty good. No more Danielle or Chicken George. Yeah! I watched 3 old episodes of 'The Office'. Lia and I can't wait for it to start up again.
I went to sleep at like 10:30 and was supposed to wake up at 12:30 to watch tennis recaps but did not wake up til 4:15. Damn! I'll have to watch it tonight (Friday). I gotta know who is playing who and when tomorrow. So exciting!!! Sports-gasm!
Today I didn't leave bed until 10am, and then read comfortably pajama'd for Physiology seminar for an hour and a half. Very boring though. It was all hormone review. This class is gonna suck. At least there are no tests! (that I know of).
Now I am squatting down in the GIS lab blogging so Kailea can laugh at me for 10 minutes. I will go home and probably start watching Nip/ Tuck Season 3.
Random fact of the day: I hate cops with a fiery and unyielding passion. Protect and serve, blah blah blah. That's nice, But they really seem to be sheep dogs for people; blocking the roads I need to go down for big concerts, catching me speeding on my way home to or from NY state. But I love chick cops! On tv or in movies or like the one at Target that one time. She made me walk into the edge of a display. Lust hurts. Girls in military uniforms can be good too.
